Locavore will see four new beer releases per year – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. These will allow us to experiment with small batches, new ingredients, mixed fermentation and push the boundaries of our innovation to brew something special to reflect and champion our home, Wicklow.

Locavore Winter 2024
At Wicklow Wolf, our mission is to brew exceptional beers in a sustainable way. Beholden to nothing but the seasons and Mother Nature’s will, we have worked tirelessly up on the hop farm to ensure this year’s harvest was a success. For the 11th edition of Locavore Winter, we have crafted a Dry Irish Stout using the finest local ingredients – Wicklow water, hops from our 2024 harvest on our hop farm, and local barley. Locavore is a beer that champions local ingredients, terroir, and sustainability. We take great pride in our hop farm and it is now home to over 5,000 native Irish trees, eight beehives, and, of course, our hops. Expect a full-flavoured stout packed with roasted malt flavours and floral hop bitterness. This dark, roasty stout finishes with a clean, smooth dryness that will leave you wanting more.
Locavore Autumn 2024
Locavore Autumn 2024 is a beer that champions Wicklow and Irish terroir brewed using locally grown Irish barley. A Barrel Aged Irish Barleywine aged for 12 months in ex Olorosso and ex Pedro Ximinez barrels, that had Fercullen’s 21 year old Single Malt Whiskey aged in them. A complex, full bodied, uncompromising barleywine that pours a deep mahogany. On the palate it is full of rich caramel, toffee, red wine, dried fruits, marmalade and Christmas cake, rounding off with the dry tannic finish of a dessert wine, making this decadent beer incredibly moreish.
Locavore Summer 2024
The Locavore Project epitomises the core philosophy that Wicklow Wolf was founded upon, provenance and pride. It allows us to honour the landscape of Wicklow, our home and celebrate it with small batch, local, experimental beers. Locavore Summer 2024 is a honey and elderflower wheat beer brewed with heather honey supplied by our friends at OpenHive and foraged elderflower from near the Hop Farm. The bees worked hard in the Wicklow mountains to gather the nectar needed to make beautiful heather honey which adds a unique characteristic to this beer, complimented well by the freshly foraged elderflower. Locavore Spring 2024
Introducing Locavore Spring 2024, the first seasonal Locavore Project release of 2024 and our 21st release in the series. Locavore Spring 2024 is a Barrel Aged Farmhouse Ale aged for 16 months in Chardonnay barrels on our hop farm in the Wicklow Mountains. Conditioned with wild yeasts and carefully monitored by the watchful eyes of our brewing team, the beer was allowed to slowly mature over time to give a magnificent depth of complex flavours. The result? A wild, sour farmhouse ale which champions the wild yeasts of the Wicklow Wolf Hop Farm and the Wicklow Terroir.
