2022 has been a year we will never forget. We are very thankful that the entire pack at Wicklow Wolf stayed fit and healthy as well as welcoming a few new additions to the pack.

This year has been a busy one at the brewery in Newtownmountkennedy which has seen the Taproom and Tours getting busier, the return of beer festivals and events and of course; twenty new beers!


Apex Cherry, a delicious, decadent Oatmeal Stout jam packed with luscious black cherries.


A Red Rye IPA dry hopped with Citra and Chinook, inspired by the Red Wolf (Canis Rufus), a critically endangered species and the world’s most endangered wolf.


Tundra Tropical IPA, the newest addition to our core range. A Tropical IPA brewed to allow the hops to shine, dry hopped with Citra, Idaho 7, Mosaic and Sabro. At 5.6%, this Hazy IPA is bursting with pineapple, grapefruit and mango flavours.

After Midnight, an exciting collaborative brew with our friends in @yakimachief , brewed to showcase the experimental hop HBC 472.

HBC 472 is truly an innovative and unique variety in that alongside the coconut notes, it also expresses intense woody & vanilla notes and can have an almost oak/bourbon barrel-aged effect in the finished beer.

In After Midnight, HBC 472 added a wonderful complexity to the beer with coconut and tropical fruit aromas while imparting undertones you would expect of a barrel aged stout. Brewing an India Export Stout allowed us to showcase HBC 472 and the interesting characteristics it can bring to a beer; a beautiful balance between the roast malt notes, the fruity aromas, coconut and wood flavours.


A beer we have been planning to brew for over a year, following on from our Endangered Species No. 15, Somewhere Far Away.

The brain child of our brewer’s coming together (one of which is a Kiwi), this is an IPA that champions two super fresh New Zealand hops, Nelson Sauvin and Motueka. Far Far Away is a New Zealand India Pale Ale brewed with the same recipe as our Somewhere Far Away (a New Zealand India Pale Lager), with one crucial difference – ale yeast as opposed to lager yeast.


A Barrel Aged Farmhouse Ale aged in Chianti Red Wine barrels on our hop farm and allowed to slowly condition with the wild yeasts of our Hop Farm for 36 months.

The Locavore Project epitomises the core philosophy that Wicklow Wolf was founded upon, provenance and pride. The Locavore Project allows us to celebrate the terroir of Wicklow, our home and champion it with small batch, local, experimental beers.


Inspired by @yakimachief innovative hop blend Cryo Pop®, ‘Is this Pop Art?’ is a celebration of the art of the brewing. Cryo Pop® original blend is a hop blend delivering massive tropical, stone fruit and citrus aromas to this Hazy Double IPA.

Brewing itself is a blend of art and science that together result in something beautiful. Our brewers are both artists and scientists, combining their love of the craft, freedom of expression and their expertise to create each and every beer at Wicklow Wolf.

This passion and love for the art of brewing is what makes each of our small batch limited editions special.


A light and refreshing Belgian Witbier brewed with our friends in @mescanbrewery.

Brewed using fresh orange peel, coriander and black peppercorns, ‘Wit or Witout You’ has a wonderful depth of flavour with sweet citrus, peppery spice and a hint of banana coming to the forefront. Enjoy in the sun with friends.


A tropical sour brewed with a cornucopia of apricot, blood orange, passion fruit and pineapple.

A burst of tropical fruit hits you on the nose before the first lip-smacking sip. An extremely juice forward beer complimented by a tart, sour finish, ‘You Can’t Handle The Fruit’ is the perfect refreshing Summer beer.

A modern take on the classic West Coast IPA, West Side Story was heavily dry hopped with new age hops: Strata, Idaho 7 & Talus and fermented with the Kveik yeast strain, Hornindal.


Another example of our brewer’s passion and creativity running wild. A modern twist on the classic hefeweizen beer style, Heff Bezos is a hop forward wheat beer.

A style of beer that we have planned to brew for quite some time now, this Hopfenweisse is brewed with modern hops (Citra, Idaho 7 & Talus) and fermented using a hefeweizen yeast strain from our friends at @whc_lab.


A foraged Elderflower Saison brewed with wild elderflower hand-picked from our hop farm and our very own malted barley and wheat.

Expect Locavore Summer 2022 to be packed with herbal, floral notes, a hint of spiced banana and a light crisp body.


A juicy DIPA with a burst of tropical fruit flavours and aromas of melon, grapefruit, papaya, mango and passion fruit.

Decipher was brewed with a grain bill of pale malt, wheat and oats with Cascade hops also added into the Mash, followed by Idaho 7 and Eureka! being added into the whirlpool.

These hop additions in the mash were in done in order to build up thiols (aroma & flavour compounds found in hops) that would be ‘unlocked’ by WHC’s innovative yeast strain Hop Unlock during fermentation that previously would have been inaccessible.

These unlocked flavour compounds help to give us an even fruiter IPA. The beer also received a very generous dry hop of Citra, Amarillo and Mosaic.


Brewed with Pilsner malt, Sorachi Ace hops for bittering and German hops Huell Melon and Ariana for flavour and aroma.

Dry hopped and then slowly lagered to allow flavours develop, you can expect a refreshing pilsner with bready, malt sweetness, citrus and melon aromas and a clean, crisp bitterness to finish.


Pointy Shoes 2022, a Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, aged in Bourbon barrels for 12 months and brewed to celebrate our 8th birthday.

Expect smooth bourbon notes of oak, vanilla , complimented with coffee and chocolate from the malt bill.


‘Sirius’ Black IPA. A magical Black IPA, Sirius was brewed with a robust malt bill and double dry hopped with Amarillo, Simcoe and Strata.


Locavore Autumn 2022 is a beer that champions the Wicklow terroir. A Barrel Aged Irish Barleywine aged in bourbon barrels for 12 months and brewed using our very own malted barley.


A Dry Irish Stout made using the finest Irish ingredients – Wicklow Mountain Water, Hops from the 2022 harvest on our hop farm and our own grown and malted barley.

Locavore is a beer that champions local ingredients, terroir and sustainability, allowing us to taste the fruits of our home; Wicklow.


A delicious, decadent stout with lashings of chocolate. Apex Death by Chocolate is a full bodied, rich stout that will leave you wanting more.


An Imperial Stout aged for 12 Months in ex Barleywine Wicklow Oak barrels. You can expect a rich, complex stout with layers of caramel, toffee, oak, vanilla and red wine aroma.
