Introducing the Wicklow Wolf Running Club.
We worked hard for many years to get our running club set up. In June of 2022 we finally did it. A social running club focussed on getting our members out running on some of the fantastic trails that Wicklow has to offer. All runs are organised by running coach René Borg of Runningcoach.ie. Rene will be on hand throughout the year to offer any advice and support to our members.

Our First Meeting – Friday july 8th 2022
The Wicklow Wolf Running Club met for the first time on Friday July 8th 2022 at the Taproom. From here, they embarked on their inaugural run up through the hills and forests which surround us here at the brewery. Coming in at just over 8.5km, a few well earned beers were enjoyed upon their return.
Two years on, the Wicklow Wolf Running Club is more than seventy members strong, taking to the Trails as a group once a month where we run some of the best trails our home Wicklow has to offer. Whether you’re an experience runner with years under your belt or a complete beginner, we welcome runners of all abilities! Join us for a a fun, inclusive and social run once a month where you’ll meet great friends and of course, enjoy some great beers.
January 2024 run – Glen of the downs
Our first run of 2024 took place Friday the 26th of January under the Wolf Moon in Glen of the Downs.
FEBRUARY 2024 run – Bray head
Our second run of 2024 took place Friday the 23rd of February up and around Bray Head.
March 2024 run (members only run) – newtownmountkennedy
Our third run of 2024 took place in Newtownmountkennedy, starting and ending at the Wicklow Wolf Taproom.
APRIL 2024 run (FRIDAY 26TH APRIL) – CARRICKGOLLIGAN
April’s Run will take place on Friday 26th April, following a route through Carrickgolligan, Rathmichael and Barnaslingan Woods at a distance of just over 8.5km. The starting point of the run will be Carrickgolligan Woods car park. We will meet at 6.15pm with a start time of 6.30pm.

May 2024 run (FRIDAY 24TH May) – Trooperstown woods
April’s Run will take place on Friday 24th May, following a route through Trooperstown Woods and Trooperstown Hill at a distance of either 5.7km or 7.2km. The starting point of the run will be Trooperstown Woods car park. We will meet at 6.15pm with a start time of 6.30pm.

June 2024 run / Summer party (members only – newtownmountkennedy
Our sixth run of 2024 took place in Newtownmountkennedy, starting and ending at the Wicklow Wolf Taproom.
July 2024 run – Derrybawn / Laragh
Our seventh run of the year will be taking place Friday the 26th of July. We’ll be meeting at the Laragh GAA Carpark (click here for Google Maps location) at the usual time of 6.15pm with the run starting at roughly 6.30pm. Find the full route details here.
AUGUST 2024 run – THE GREAT SUGARLOAF LOOP
Our eight run of the year will be taking place Friday the 30th of August. We’ll be meeting at Plucks of Kilmac (click here for Google Maps location) at the usual time of 6.15pm with the run starting at roughly 6.30pm. Find the full route details here.
September 2024 run – Lough Tay Loop
Our Ninth run of the year will be taking place Friday the 20th of September. We’ll be meeting at the JB Malone Car Park by Lough Tay (click here for Google Maps location) at the usual time of 6.15pm with the run starting at roughly 6.30pm. OCTOBER 2024 run – VARTRY RESERVOIR Loop
Our tenth run of the year will be taking place Friday the 1st of November. We’ll be meeting at the Coach House Car Park in Roundwood at the usual time of 6.15pm, with the run commencing at roughly 6.30pm. We will have both a short and long route available. Please bring a head torch as parts of the route will be undertaken in dark conditions.

The short route group will follow the black markers and the long route group will follow the white markers on the map below – both groups will start at the same time following the route in a clockwise direction.
November 2024 run – Laragh Loop
Our eleventh run of the year will be taking place Friday the 22nd of November. We’ll be meeting in Laragh Village at the usual time of 6.15pm, with the run commencing at roughly 6.30pm. We will have both a short and long route available. Please bring a head torch as the route will be undertaken in dark conditions. We also ask that you bring a fully charged phone to be carried on your person for the run.
