Introducing Endangered Species no. 70, Pointy Shoes 2026. First released in 2019 to mark our 5th Birthday. Pointy Shoes 2026, a Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, aged in Bourbon barrels for 12 months, was brewed to celebrate our 12th birthday. Expect smooth bourbon notes of oak, vanilla, complimented with coffee and chocolate from the malt bill.

When we decided to brew a beer to celebrate our birthday – there was always only one name to call it – Pointy Shoes. Back in 2014 when Quincey and Simon made the decision to make their dreams a reality and open Wicklow Wolf they searched for a building that they could move into and call it the home of Wicklow Wolf. A former bakery in the heart of Bray ticked all the right boxes.

Simon set up a meeting to meet the landlord to secure the premises. Uncharacteristically for Simon, he was early to the meeting and the landlord said that if your business partner turns up in ‘Pointy Shoes’ you both can forget it. Luckily, Quincey worked in the big corporate drinks world and on leaving he vowed never to wear a suit again and with them pointy shoes. It was that moment and that phrase that helped shape what the two lads wanted to build – an independent brewery without any hints of ‘pointy shoes’ and what they stand for. 12 years on, still no pointy shoes.

Introducing Endangered Species number 69. Extra Elevation. Our flagship pale ale, has been taken to new heights.

Our flagship pale ale, now with extra everything. Double dry hopped with Mosaic, Strata, Centennial and Huell Melon, Extra Elevation is bursting with juicy pineapple and grapefruit, delivering a bigger, fruitier hop hit.

At 8.4% ABV, it packs a serious punch while staying refreshingly true to the Elevation you know and love.

Introducing our Endangered Species no. 68 – ‘If You Like’ Piña Colada Sour. Inspired by the classic Piña Colada cocktail, this lightly sour beer is bursting with juicy pineapple and creamy coconut aromas. Brewed with fresh pineapple juice, real coconut and lactose for a smooth, velvety mouthfeel, it delivers a refreshing balance of tropical sweetness and gentle tartness at an easy drinking 3.8% ABV.

If you like Piña Coladas, you’ll love this beer.

Petrichor (pronounced peh-trih-kor) is the pleasant, earthy smell that accompanies the first rain after a warm, dry period. the word was coined from the greek petra, meaning ‘stone’ and ichor, meaning ‘the golden liquid that flows in the veins of the gods’. Petrichor is a juicy, soft-bodied Hazy IPA inspired by the unmistakable scent of an Irish Summer.

Bursting with ripe mango, passionfruit, peach and citrus zest, layered with hints of berry and tropical fruit. Expect a smooth mouthfeel, intense juicy hop character and minimal bitterness, finishing bright, refreshing and as golden as the liquid that flows through the veins of the Greek gods.

Petrichor gave us an opportunity to work with our friends in BarthHaas and their new innovative PRYSMA® liquid hop flavour platform. PRYSMA® delivers intense, long-lasting hop flavours to beer – without any notable bitterness, without additives, and without compromise. Our brewers are always excited to try new innovations, and chose Citra PRYSMA® as their feature hop of choice, alongside Krush and Mosaic.

Introducing Endangered Species no. 65 – PÓG. 

A beer inspired by our love of the 90s. Who remembers playing POGs? A game where you used a slammer to flip the pog caps face up. Did you know the game originated from using milk bottle caps and later bottle caps from POG juice – a passionfruit, orange and guava juice – so we took a trip down memory lane and brewed a tribute with PÓG.

PÓG (Irish for “kiss”) is a nod to 90s pop culture and our love of fruited sours: a juicy blast of passionfruit, orange and guava that lands soft and fruity up front, then finishes with a sharp kiss.

AMERICAN AMBER will always have a special place in our hearts at Wicklow Wolf – it was the very first beer we ever brewed and released.

Now, for a limited time, we’re bringing this crowd favourite back with a new & improved recipe and the new Wicklow Wolf design. Expect sweet caramel richness and tropical fruit tones, balanced by a bright tang of citrus hops – a modern take on the beer that started us on our journey.
